True Love

I must confess:

I HATE VALENTINE'S DAY!!

I think it is such a commercialized day. I hate how the world tells us that in order to show love to someone else, we must buy them something. The more you love them, the more expensive the gift must be. I could go on and on about this, but I will save you...

However, coming up to this holiday I have been contemplating the concept of LOVE. I wanted to share with you two of my loves.

FIRST: GOD ALMIGHTY

My ultimate true love is the Lord. Not because of how fantastic I am at being His disciple, but because how much He loved me first! To think I was and still am unworthy makes God's gift of unconditional love unfathomable. Even the many times I've deliberately turned my back in the face of Creator God, the Lord's view of me has never changed. Praise God! He is faithful!

SECOND: MY LOVE, MY HUSBAND, MY BEST FRIEND, JEREMY

What can I say (or type?)? This man has pursued me since 2003 and still continues to. He calms me down when I get over-emotional (I know that is hard to believe), grounds me in wisdom, makes me laugh like no other person could, and loves me when I am unlovable. Thanks, Jeremy, for such a wonderful marraige. You will be a great Dad soon. I can't wait to take this next step in life with you. I love you!

So, in part let's look at what LOVE truely is:

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not eny, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of worngs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails.
