You know how you forget how thankful you are for everyday things until you don't have them? Like hot water. And a fence that keeps a dog in.
And so my day begins...
It actually started last night. I asked Jeremy to get the peas from the deep freeze in the garage. Praise the Lord I did so because Jeremy noticed that our hot water heater was leaking. If he didn't notice it, who knows what damage could have happened?
So that means no hot water until it is fixed. No bath last night for Addisen and no washing the dishes from last night. This morning, I got to heat water on the stove and then wash my hair in the sink.
Our plumber called this morning and said they couldn't come until Monday. Monday? 5 days without hot water?
All at the same time, Jeremy exercised this morning before work. On his way home, he noticed Gracey's head sticking out the fence in another attempt to escape our yard. So we had to decide between Jeremy fixing the fence this morning (for the 4th time) or driving to Waco to keep Gracey in his parents' kennel for a couple days. That means Jeremy had to take off yet another day off.
Praise God, we found another plumber a few hours later that could come today. Hopefully the water heater situation will be fixed today or tomorrow. Too bad the plumber was in a sour mood. My awesome husband went and bought supplies to fix the fence. He is currently out in the muddy yard tacking barb wire along the bottom of the fence to deter Gracey from escaping.
Wow.
Thank you, Lord, for the many things we take for granted.
Thank you for hot water, warm showers, clean dishes, and a clean baby.
Thank you, Lord, for Jeremy's work and the flexibility for him to fix the fence and deal with the crumby plumber.
May we be thankful daily for Your daily provisions.

Wow, Megs, that is a lot! Thanks for reminding me to be thankful for the things I take for granted each day. I hope y'all have an extra nice weekend because of such a not so fun week.
2 words - electric fence. Bailey now avoids any wire looking anything. We don't even have it on anymore (it's been off for over a year) and he still avoids the garden and the fence line . . . totally worth it! If you need hot water, you're free to use our house - we're gone all weekend! :)
next time you need an emergency plumber let me know- my brother in law is a plumber up at a&m and I will call him for you
